Greetings from Charlotte. This is a picture of Secretariat, the best thoroughbred horse of all time. I went and saw the movie this afternoon and it was great! Secretariat was known as a slow starter who turned it on and made his best strides at the end of the race. Anyway it is nice to get away from the golf now and again at the movie theater. We are half way through the tournament and I stand at 3 over par through 36 holes. I opened up play yesterday with a one under par 70. Today, I struggled a bit playing in a steady rain my opening nine holes. I turned in two over par on the easier nine. I matched that score on the back with another two over par to tally a four over par 75 in round two. The top 23 players will advance to the next stage. I currently sit four shots off that pace. Every golfer who has ever played knows the feeling of it just not being your day. On my sixth hole today I had a four foot birdie putt to move to two under par on the round. As I addressed my ball with my putter, the ball quivered and moved a fraction of an inch. The ball had moved and I had to call a penalty on myself. Crazy things happen in this game, and it was just one of those circumstances that come along every now and again. It was a bad break, but I was determined not to let it derail me. I know it didn't, however my game the closing two thirds of the way just didn't tag along. The beauty of this game is there still is a long way to go. It is that time of year where only the strong survive. I battled adversity out there all day and I didn't let it trample me. I got up and dusted myself off. I'm ready to go these next two days and put my best foot forward. Nothing in this game is a guarantee. I can make one guarantee though. These last two days I am going to outpour everything I have to allow myself to play the best golf I know how to play. Secretariat was the best closer there ever was, and these next two days I want to make Secretariat proud by doing much of the same.
